On Nov. 30, the College’s international students were invited to participate in the Student Success Center’s first-ever International Transfer Roundtable. Students had the opportunity to meet with admissions officers and students from seven of the College’s partner institutions: Chestnut Hill College, La Salle University, Neuman College, Penn State University – Abington, Saint Joseph’s University, Temple University and West Chester University.
After enjoying lunch and engaging in informal discussions, students rotated through the institutions, spending 10 minutes at each one.
“International students are often hesitant to reach out to other schools, and even if they do, it can be hard for them to get the information they need,” said Dilek Arig, Associate Director of International and ESL Students. “We wanted to provide them with an event to get the transfer conversation started.”
Fifty of the College’s 180 F1 international students participated in the event.
“This was a nice pilot for us, and we’ll most likely do another one in spring,” said Pete Cubbage, Counselor. “This format also lends itself to other cohorts, such as student veterans or students in specific majors.”
